Rhapsody - Music at the Library ~ December 7, 3pm ~
PCEP Festival Singers
The award-winning PCEP Festival Singers, under the direction of Jennifer L. Kopp, will present a concert of holiday favorites including A Holiday Jazz Trio, Hot Chocolate from the film The Polar Express, and Josh Groban’s Lullaby. The PCEP Festival Singers is comprised of students from Plymouth, Canton, and Salem High Schools, in grades 10-12, who are selected by vocal audition.

Advance Directives: Five Wishes Workshop

Jean Teifer of Arbor Hospice will present information on advance health care directives. Come and learn practical advice and the legal tools you need to make important arrangements, based on your wishes and those of your loved ones. Every participant will receive a copy of the Five Wishes worksheet to help create your legal plan. Enjoy an evening of board games with your family and neighbors. The Library will supply the games, as well as pizza and soda! Lap
Sit Storytime for children 6 to 24 months - Lap
sit storytime is a 15 minute song and rhyme time for babies on their
care-giver
laps.
Storytimes will be held on Monday, December 8 at
10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and will be repeated on Saturday, December 13 at
10:00 a.m. Registration for all sessions will begin on Monday, December 1st. Limit
of 16 children per session. Wait list is available. Registered care-giver
and baby only, please!
Baby Play! for children 6 to 24 months - Baby Play! is a 20 minute story and play time for babies and their caregivers. Baby Play! will be held on Monday, December 29 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. No registration required.
Drop-in Storytime: Monday, December 29, 10:00 am - Join us over the holiday break for a drop-in storytime. No registration required.

LIBRARY GROUPS MEETING DURING
DECEMBER
$$$ AND SENSE –– Wednesday, December 3, 1pm.
Join with others who are interested in learning and sharing information
on personal finance and investing at this discussion group at the
Library. The group provides a forum to study
and share personal investment information, learn investment terminology,
review different investment tools, and study individual stocks,
mutual funds, annuities, etc. Each month, members follow and report
on a mock portfolio they set up on the Internet. This is not a
stock club, no monies are involved; members plan, moderate, and
participate in each meeting. New members are welcome at any meeting.
Meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month in
a Library meeting room.
LOW VISION SUPPORT GROUP – Thursday, December
4, 1 pm
This meeting will take place on the first Thursday of every month.
Participants will share advice on coping skills and adaptive technologies
in a supportive atmosphere. A qualified facilitator will lead the
group. Library staff members will be on hand to provide assistance
with Library equipment, services and offerings. For more information

LIBRARY BOARD - Tuesday, December 23, 7:30 pm
The Plymouth District Library Board will hold its regularly scheduled
monthly meeting in the Library. This meeting is open to the public.
Individuals with special needs who plan to attend this meeting should

COMPUTER NEWS
Plymouth residency is required for all attendees of the Library's
computer training classes. Please register by calling 734-453-0750,
ext. 4.
INTRO TO MS WORD –Monday, December 8, 7:00 pm -8:30
pm ~ Students will learn how to open, close, modify,
save and print a basic Word document. The class covers basic features
of this software program only. Students must be comfortable keyboarding
and using a mouse prior to taking this class.
BASIC INTERNET SEARCHING –Wednesday, December 10, 11:00 am-
12:30 pm ~ This class for Plymouth residents will help
computer users learn the basics of using the Internet. This will
include an explanation of terms, use of a browser and utilizing
search engines on the World Wide Web. Participants should be comfortable
with the Microsoft Windows basics and using a mouse. Training is
based on the hardware and software available in the Library.
COMPUTER BASICS –Thursday, December 6, 11:00 am - 12:30
pm ~ This course is designed to teach Microsoft Windows
and basic mousing skills to Plymouth residents. This class provides
one session of mousing practice and hands-on work with the keyboard
and Windows. Participants are urged to return during the Drop-in
tutoring sessions for additional practice.
INTERMEDIATE MS WORD - Monday, December 17, 7:00 pm
- 8:30 pm ~ In
this class students will learn how to adjust a layout using Page
Setup, use auto correct, insert dates and symbols, work with two
Word documents at the same time, and more.
BASIC EMAIL - Monday, December 15, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm ~ Learn how to create a free e-mail account using Yahoo in this one-session class. You will also learn how to compose, send and delete email messages on that account.
DROP IN COMPUTER TRAINING –Saturdays December 8 and 22, 10:00am - 12:30 pm ~ High school students will teach Plymouth
residents to use a mouse, Windows 2000, the Library catalog, the
Internet and how to set up a free e-mail account using Hotmail
or Yahoo! We do offer basic training in MS Word. However, we do
not offer training in Windows Vista or other software programs.
